Any journey made by a car or a bus for an extended period of time; road trip.
A spectacular way to travel the world and take in the landscapes.
Depending on where you are in the world, the views outside your window may require more entertainment in the car than simple window gazing.
If you happen to find yourself in Switzerland, there is no real need to bring any extracurricular activities to keep your mind occupied. You simply need your camera, a front row seat and a bug splatter free window.

Zurich to Livigno is the route. Google Maps will tell you the travel time is 3 hours 27 minutes. However, you should allow at least an additional hour for stops along the way to pull off the side of the road to admire the beauty that engulfs you as you wind your way up and down the curvy, narrow passes of the Alps.
Here's a select handful of the 1,000 photos I snapped on the journey..
Switzerland truly is the one place where the actual views are just as good as their postcards.

We began our journey from Zurich at around 4 in the afternoon. So when we arrived at our destination in Livigno it was dark.
Needless to say when I made it to breakfast in the morning and was greeted with large glass pane windows from our hotel, Alpen Village, I almost fell over. I honestly didn't think anything could top what I had driven through the day before. And then I had this view:

After breakfast I walked down the mountain to take the gondola up to the top of the mountain, 12 euros, an opportunity that can't be passed up.
And after seeing what nature had in store for me at the top of the mountain, I officially decided if this is what skiing involved, I needed to hire an instructor immediately.
